Provide
engineering
support to the Valves, Actuators and Ducts Branch of the Propulsion
Systems Department of MSFC for the support
of Propulsion Systems Engineering and Integration (PSE&I) and Space
Shuttle Main Engine (SSME) Valves,
Actuators, and Ducts. Specific duties may include anomaly
resolution efforts which include design, development and
test of various fluid transfer elements of liquid propulsion
engines.
Fundamental tasks performed may include the inspection, analysis,
design and development, and material property evaluations.
Develop test
plans, test procedures and technical reports as needed. Participate in
formal project reviews.
BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field from
an ABET accredited institution with a minimum of 3 years applicable
experience is required. Experience in Liquid Rocket Engine ducts
and
piping is desired. Knowledge of the Space Shuttle Main Engine or
other Expendable Rocket engines is desired. Experience with
cryogenic
fluids is desired. Excellent planning, organizing, scheduling and
resource allocation skills required. Excellent interpersonal and
communication skills and strong team commitment and customer relations
skills required. Experience with ducts and piping not related to
Liquid Rocket Engines will be considered based on background, hardware
knowledge and complexity of assignments and projects.
Flight + Ground
S/W Engineer
Identify process improvements in software development, facilitate
Capability Maturity Mode Integration (CMMI) and organizational
compliant process development, participate in software working groups,
provide coordination for the collection and reporting of metrics for
software development and provide database support. Produce
software work products (such as project software schedules, software
work instruction documentation, software metric data, organizational
documentation and other organization data as required. Provide
additional support to maintain a CMMI Level 3 rating.
Additionally, provide technical expertise/support to incidental
software development activities.
BS degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related
field from an ABET accredited institution with a minimum of 8 years
applicable experience is required. A minimum of 3 years
experience with CMM or CMMI process development and software metrics
definition, collection and reporting is required.
